Jessica Serrano Seipel, MPH, is a Program Director at JDI. As part of the domestic programs team, Jessica supports community rape crisis centers and corrections agencies in developing partnerships to ensure incarcerated survivors get the help they need. Jessica also supports survivors at a California women’s prison by facilitating trauma-informed art workshops. Previously, she worked at rape crisis centers, domestic violence programs and sexual health agencies across California as an advocate and educator. She is a trained rape crisis counselor.
Eleana Butler, MSW, is the Executive Director of Sexual Assault Services of Northwest New Mexico, located in Farmington, NM. She received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Human Services from Fort Lewis College in 1996, and her Master of Social Work from Highlands University in 2005. Ms. Butler was instrumental in starting the programs at SAS in January of 2004, which includes the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners) Program, Rape Crisis Advocacy, Counseling, Primary Prevention Programs, Community Education and Outreach. She has worked to expand the agency’s service area, and SAS now has a satellite office located in Gallup, NM, as well as provides SANE exams at Northern Navajo Medical Center in Shiprock. Ms. Butler has worked to create an agency that is victim-centered, focusing on providing trauma-informed care, and addressing oppression in its many forms. Her 24 years of professional experience includes working with at-risk families and children, children and adults with disabilities, the elderly, with her primary focus in the anti-domestic violence and anti-sexual assault fields.
